Sunshine In Caleta De Fuste Filed under:

Caleta de Fuste in Fuerteventura was mainly designed to serve as a tourist destination, and the region boasts of round the year sunshine with almost no rainfall, making it an ideal destination to soak up the sun.
Its picturesque man made beaches have been created using imported golden sand and haven’t dwindled in beauty since their formation unlike most other man made beaches.
The region also boasts of some very good hotels which face the beach, and the Elba Carlotta and the Sheraton are amongst many others lining the beautiful beaches.
The beaches that line the coast of Caleta de Fuste were made by lagoons being created where solid rock once stood.
Transportation isn’t a problem and one can hop on a bus and get to Puerto Del Rosario in around 20 minutes. Also, even though there aren’t too many taxis in Caleta, they are fairly easy to come by.
In addition to the many holiday homes, resorts, and hotels that line up the region’s coast, Caleta also has two extremely good 18 holed golf courses for the golfing aficionados.
With tourists serving as the primary focus, a majority of the resorts/hotels in the region have a wide range of activities for their guest to partake in all year round.
It is interesting to know that Caleta de Fuste is also referred to as Caleta, Costa Caleta, and El Castillo, and this does cause some confusion in some of the visitors.
With a lot on offer in terms of beautiful locales as well as things to do, one thing you can be sure of is that one will go back home with pictures one’s friends/family would love as well as some great memories.
For those wanting a cool drink and a great meal, then check out the Blues Bar; just one of the many bars in costa caleta

A Concise Account Of Pretoria Past In South Africa. Filed under:

Pretoria in South Africa is situated 50 kms north of Johannesburg. It is one of the three cities that have responsibility for ruling south Africa. These days it is a fertile, warm and sheltered place. Pretoria history tells us that it was not always such a peaceful place to be.
Winston Churchill, the late wartime British Prime minister, has been a visitor to Pretoria. He was a prisoner during the second Boer war which took place between 1899 and 1902 but he managed to escape to Mozambique. Pretoria also saw a war that caused them to be occupied by Republican troops during 1879 to 1881.
Pretoria’s history is dark from 1948 to 1990, it had the dubious title of the capital of apartheid in South Africa. Apartheid involved the segregation of certain races including black, white, Indian and colored people. Black people could not access the same medical and educational services as white people.
Black people were always given inferior services. There were different buses, schools and buildings for black people. Many black women worked as maids for white people and were often badly treated because white people were taught to believe that black people were inferior. These beliefs were passed on to peoples children and so the cycle continued.
Eating at the same table as ones maid was frowned upon, as was sharing a toilet. Apartheid was met with opposition from civil rights groups as well as the rest of the world and, in 1990 the first moves were made to abolish it. In 1994 a democracy rule was established.
Since Apartheid was abolished Pretoria’s reputation has improved. This was helped by the inauguration of Nelson Mandela as the first non apartheid president. Though apartheid has only recently been abolished it’s effects are still felt throughout South Africa. Pretoria and the other large cities are working hard to create a place that is pleasant to live in for everybody, irrelevant of race.
Get what you need to know about Pretoria history by going online. There you can learn about Pretoria guest houses and more. Go online now and learn more.

Need a vacation? Take a trip to southwest Florida for a little rest and relaxation in Sarasota. This is a fabulous place to call home or visit for a vacation. Here are ten exciting things to do in Sarasota:
1) Shop at St. Armand’s Circle - This is a fun place to grab a bite to eat with your family and friends. I take the family over there periodically to grab an ice cream and walk around the circle and window shop.
2) Enjoy the beach - Sarasota, Florida has some of the nicest beaches in the world. Siesta Key beach was recently ranked as the 2nd prettiest beach in the country by Dr. Beach. Spend a day swimming, relaxing, walking or playing on the beach.
3) Parasail - Do you like heights? I don’t and that is why I have not done this yet. Strap yourself in and get pulled by a boat. You will go a hundred or so feet in the air and get pulled around the Gulf of Mexico.
4) Boating - Go rent a boat for a day and cruise around the Gulf of Mexico or Sarasota bay. Stop at O’Leary’s near downtown Sarasota for a great bite to eat. What a fun day.
5) Fishing - Hooking into a fish is fun for the whole family. Grab a charter boat and spend a day cruising around Sarasota bay and the Gulf of Mexico.
6) Eat a burger at the Hob Nob - The Hob Nob is a little dive on US 301. There is nothing fancy here but when the weather is nice it is an interesting place to grab a bite to eat.
7) Asolo Theatre - Do you enjoy a play? Go to one of the many fine performances at the Asolo Theatre in Sarasota.
Run the bridge - Need to burn off the fabulous meals from the great Sarasota restaurants? Take a run over the Ringling Bridge. This is a very enjoyable run because of the breeze and jaw dropping water and downtown views. Very enjoyable.
9) Biking - Do you like going for a bike ride? Take a long ride down Longboat Key. This an 11 mile long barrier island off the coast. It is great for riding. There are several places where you can rent a bike.
10) Go to open houses - Do you enjoy looking at real estate? On a Sunday grab the Sarasota Herald Tribune and find out where the open houses are located. Or, if you wish just drive around the areas you like. You are sure to find some open houses. Perhaps you will make Sarasota your permanent home.
Sarasota, Florida is a fun place to visit. You might have so much fun here that you decide to just stay forever. As a vacationer you can find as much or as little as you want to do.
